Section IX Softball Information:

Seed Meeting – May 18th 2017 Sectionals: Start – May 23rd   Finals – May 27th Regionals: June 1– 3, 2017 States: June 10, 2017 @ South Glens Falls, NY - Moreau Park NYSPHSAA Program All teams are asked to submit their roster at the beginning of the season.  Section IX Champions are responsible for sending their team picture to the NYSPHSAA office as soon as the Sectional tournament is complete.  The submission guidelines for both are in the booklet. Max Preps - All coaches are encouraged to use the Max Preps website, www.MaxPreps.com, for their team roster and statistics.  It is free. SITES: Top seeded teams’ home field prior to finals.  Final sites will be determined by the softball committee. Playoff sites and conditions will be determined by the softball committee.  Rained out games are played the next day. SECTION IX SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT Thursday, May 18 Point cards due by noon/ Seeding meeting Tuesday, May 23 Sectional Quarterfinals games begin. If more than 8 teams qualify, the highest seed will host a doubleheader. (i.e. If nine teams qualify the 8 seed plays the 9 seed at the 1 seed - the winner will then play the 1 seed after a short break) Thursday, May 25 Sectional Semifinal games Saturday, May 27 Section IX Finals Rain Date Sites and Times TBD Class AA and A Site: Middletown High School Class B, C, D Site: Rhinebeck High School NYSPHSAA STATE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT Regionals – Thursday, June 1st – Saturday, June 3rd State Final Four – Saturday, June 10 @ Town of Moreau Harry J. Betar Jr Recreation Park

SCRIMMAGES:

Softball scrimmages must include free substitutions and lineup cards will not be exchanged. Scrimmages must also include one or more of the following: 1. Play six (6) outs per half inning (example ‐ 3 outs clear the field/ 3 more outs). 2. Batting order must be altered or modified to include more batters than rules permit. 3. Start with a runner(s) on base with a predetermined situation for at least two (2) full innings.
