Section IX Softball Information:

Seed Meeting – May 17th, 2018 Sectionals: Start – May 21st   Finals – May 26th Regionals: May 31– June 2, 2018 States: June 9, 2018 @ South Glens Falls, NY - Moreau Park NYSPHSAA Program All teams are asked to submit their roster at the beginning of the season.  Section IX Champions are responsible for sending their team picture to the NYSPHSAA office as soon as the Sectional tournament is complete.  The submission guidelines for both are in the booklet. Max Preps - All coaches are encouraged to use the Max Preps website,, for their team roster and statistics.  It is free. SITES: Top seeded teams’ home field prior to finals.  Final sites will be determined by the softball committee. Playoff sites and conditions will be determined by the softball committee.  Rained out games are played the next day. 2018 SECTION IX SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT Thursday, May 17 Point cards due by noon/ Seeding meeting Monday, May 21 Sectional Quarterfinals games begin. If more than 8 teams qualify, the highest seed will host a doubleheader. (i.e. If nine teams qualify the 8 seed plays the 9 seed at the 1 seed - the winner will then play the 1 seed after a short break) Saturday, May 26 Section IX Finals Rain Date Sites and Times TBD Class AA and A Site: TBA Class B, C, D Site: TBA NYSPHSAA STATE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT Regionals – Thursday, May 31st – Saturday, June 2nd State Final Four – Saturday, June 9th @ Town of Moreau Harry J. Softball scrimmages must include free substitutions and lineup cards will not be exchanged. Scrimmages must also include one or more of the following: 1. Play six (6) outs per half inning (example ‐ 3 outs clear the field/ 3 more outs). 2. Batting order must be altered or modified to include more batters than rules permit. 3. Start with a runner(s) on base with a predetermined situation for at least two (2) full innings.
