GIRLS GOLF UPDATE
5/16/2012
The Section IX Girls Golf Championship will be held May 21st& 23rd at Apple Greens Golf Course in Highland. The top 9 players will advance to the NYSPHSAA Girls Golf Championship at SUNY Delhi from June 8th-10th.
The driving range and putting green will open both days at 9 am.
Tee times will begin promptly at 10am.
The top 18 golfers and ties from day 1 will return to compete on day 2. The total score of 2 days of play will determine which 9 golfers will represent Section IX.
All coaches in attendance will act as markers for each threesome. On day 1 golfer’s will be paired according to their season’s scoring average. On day 2 they will be paired according to their round 1 score.
Schools should submit their participants and scoring average over par to the Section IX Coordinator on or before Friday May18th.

Information for the State tournament (practice round, tee times, food & lodging) will be presented to coaches at the completion of the Section IX Championship.

Round 1 - May 21st, 2012 @ 10am tee off- Site: Apple Greens
Round 2 - May 23rd, 2012 @ 10am tee off- Site: Apple Greens

State Championships:
June 8,9,10, 2012 @ SUNY Delhi
Section IX Girls Golf Championship
Day One:
(A) Any golfer that has an average of 18-over par or less is eligible.
Day Two:
(A) Top 18 and ties from day one advance.
(B) 18-holes – Championship Format
(C) Scores from day one and day two are combined for an individual total score.
(D) Top 9 advance to State Tournament.
(E) Playoff for 1st, 9th and 10th place, if necessary, to establish alternates.
