What is LIFE of an ATHLETE?   A program that joins athletes, parents and coaches to advocate the non-use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. The program assists communities by impacting school athletic programs with regard to chemical health issues.  Social drug use has reached epidemic levels in our youth and student athletes are among the highest at risk groups.  The American Athletic Institute has spent more than a decade studying the social dynamics of alcohol and marijuana use by middle school and high school athletes. They have conducted studies linking use and diminished athletic performance.  This information has been developed into a highly regarded prevention/intervention program that has been shown for the past seven years, at the Department of Justice’s OJJDP National Leadership Conference. If you are interested in receiving the power point presentation from this winter session, please contact Marco Lanzoni by email.  marco.lanzoni@spackenkillschools.org
